I do solemnly affirm and agree to abide by the following agreements, rules and guidelines during my stay in India.
1. I clearly understand that this program is a cultural exchange program only.

2. I understand that ICA- India will not be responsible for my stay or welfare and consequences there after the expiry of the period of my VISA period.

3. I will strictly abide and follow the laws, rules and regulations of the Government of India, as applicable to foreign nationals on visits to India.

4. I will not indulge in any activity that is against the laws of the land or the Government of India or associate myself with any persons / groups who are involved in illegal activities.

5. I will not drive or hitch hike in during my program year. I will not take any kind of narcotics/drugs of any kind, or even involve myself with persons involved in peddling drugs of any kind. I will also not consume excess of alcohol or indulge in smoking or inhaling of any drug or anything that will cause loss of presence of mind.

6. As a volunteer, I will do my best to learn, share and participate in all activities of the project / hosts I am placed in. I shall also participate actively in the daily chores of my hosts.

7. I will not interfere in the political, administrative and religious matters of the organization / individuals I interact with during my stay in India.

8. I clearly understand that I cannot change my project/hosting without valid reasons.

9. I clearly understand and agree that I will go to whichever project/hosts and ICA -India will make the final decision regarding my project placement/host and I shall abide by the decision.

10. Knowing fully well, that I may face many difficult situations I shall endeavor to do my best to adapt, and adjust to my project/host in the true spirit and guidelines.

11. I shall keep ICA- India fully informed about my progress and the daily situation in whatever project/host I am placed with.

12. I understand the voluntary nature of the program and I expect no remuneration for the work done by me either from the project or hosts.

13. I will not travel during my project work except for short trips, or with the permission of the project/host & ICA-India.

14. I agree to inform ICA- India, my Hosts and my volunteer work placement well in advance of the short holidays I intend to take, (not exceeding two or three days) and communicate regularly during my travel period, in writing or by email.

15. If I change my hosting situation or my project on my own without prior consultation and written permission of ICA- India Office, than, I will be responsible for all the costs and consequences involved, including being disassociated with the ICA – India program.

16. I clearly understand that I have to communicate in writing all official matters and requests to ICA-India Office.

I have read and clearly understood the above statements and agree to honor them. I further understand that in the event of repeated breach in agreement and disrespecting the agreement, could result in me being sent back to my home.
